What is the Number 1 club in the world?

Every clubber has that one “special” club that becomes their favourite because they associate it with their best clubbing experiences. Therefore, it is impossible to name any single club as the number one because the judging of a club should always be based on an individual’s subjective emotion. However, for those of you who are new to the club scene, here are some venues that have become globally famous:

  • Warung, Brazil: South America is famous for its raw and exotic culture and Warung in Brazil seems to have soaked it all up and put it in a club. Surrounded by both rainforest and beach, Warung has an elemental and natural feeling that makes it one of the most enchanting places to party in the world.
  • Pacha, Ibiza: When you think of the word ‘nightclub’, if you have been to Ibiza and experienced Pacha in all its glory, then this is the club that will spring to mind. Arguably the world’s most famous nightclub, Pacha supports a maze of rooms, each presenting a unique atmosphere (often a different music type). It is extremely easy to lose yourself in the club however, when you are in a nightclub partying with literally thousands of people, people who have travelled across the world just to party – surely that can’t be a bad thing!
  • The Guvernment, Toronto: Nominated for “Best Global Club” in the International Dance Music Awards, this 4000+ capacity venue showcases nine rooms of ear-shattering music. Each of the nine rooms has a different personality and this means that often a crowd will head to the club only to visit one specific room! To top it all off, the club also has view of Toronto that will cut right through any drunken mind. This club really kicks Canada’s street-rep up a rung or two.
  • Womb, Japan: This ultra-modern nightclub has been designed to focus specifically on the potential clubbing experience that can be created using technology. The space-aged sound-system is put through its paces as often as possible, often having the world’s best DJs behind the decks. DJMag once called it a “Space Station”, this Japanese party palace brings together all the things that you would expect a great Japanese club to have. Plus, it also has a devoted group of Japanese raves that really push the boat out when it comes to staying to closing time!
  • Amnesia, Ibiza: This club would almost be embarrassed to be seen in a line-up with the other clubs. With a huge oxygen cannon that literally takes the thousands of clubbers out of this world, this club boast the world’s most successful event brand Manumission. Run by the husband wife partnership of Mike & Claire it has become infamous world-wide for pushing the boundaries of what a club night should entail.
  • Fabric, London: Despite its younger brother stealing some of its limelight, Fabric is still the best club in London. Someone once said that “if Pacha, Ibiza is the soul of club music then Fabric, London is the beating heart.” Fabric was the first club in Europe to support a “bodysonic” dancefloor (where dancers literally shake to the sound of the music). Every line-up at Fabric is considered and is pumped to the 25000 square feet of club! Amazing.

There are many, many more clubs in the world to experience. From underground tribal psy-trance clubs in Thailand to dirty techno squat-raves in Berlin, we hope to get around all of them! We suggest you do to and tell us about them! Check out woMAPP.com, the home of clubbing.
